Your assistant, on your private network.
Five short steps set up a private connection with Tailscale. Your devices can reach the assistant; the dashboard never touches the public web.

Step 1 · Install
Install Tailscale on this device.
Start with the device you are holding now. You can add your computer or phone later.

- Install the Tailscale app.
- Open Tailscale and sign in.
- If the app offers to create a network, accept it. That is your private network.

Step 2 · Private network
Sign in to your Tailscale network.
This network belongs to you. The assistant only asks to join it.

Tailscale should show this device as connected.

Step 3 · Assistant
Add the server.
This step uses the private link sent by email. Open that email, click the link, then come back here if the page does not open automatically.
If nothing opens
Without the private email link, this button stays disabled. If the link no longer works, reply to the email and we will send a fresh one.

Step 4 · Connect OpenAI
Connect your OpenAI subscription.
This is the only action that matters here: connect your ChatGPT/OpenAI subscription so the assistant can answer. You do not need to open anything else first.
Discord will not answer until your OpenAI subscription is connected. Use your ChatGPT/OpenAI account, not an API key.
Before pressing the button: open ChatGPT in a web browser, go to Settings → Security, then enable device-code login for Codex. If you use a team/work account, the workspace owner or admin must also allow Codex Local and device-code authentication in workspace permissions. If you do not see this setting, reply to the message instead of retrying more codes.

Optional: the OpenClaw interface is the web chat window. You can also just message the assistant in Discord (step 5).
No password
No password is required. Your private link and your Tailscale network are the key: if you are on your network, the interface opens directly.
What you should see
The sign-in creates a private OpenAI profile on the server. This page only checks that an OpenAI OAuth profile exists; it never shows token values.
If the button does not work, run this command on the Gateway host.

Step 5 · Discord
Message your assistant in Discord.
Once OpenAI is connected, first create a small private Discord server for yourself (if you do not already have one). Then use the button to add the “Assistant” bot to that server, and message it privately (DM). The assistant replies in private messages, not in a group channel.

Exact steps
In Discord, create a private server: + → Create My Own → For me and my friends. Come back here, tap the button, choose that server, then authorize the assistant. After that, open your private messages with “Assistant” and send your first message. You do not need to create an application, a bot, or a token.
